Camping de la Riviere (Exideuil)
10 mins walking distance from La Rambaudie. Ideal for having large families and friends to stay! The campsite has 25 large pitches (100m2 – 130m2) with electricity and water. Pitches are separated from each other by trees and bushes. There is a toilet block with wash basins, spacious showers with hot water and toilets with toilet paper. Around the toilet block are sinks and laundry facilities. The campsite has a restaurant, La Guinguette, where you can eat wonderful meals for a reasonable price! Mussels and chips, big and delicious Limousin steaks, summer salads and mussels – with of course, French fries. The restaurant is open from May till September, for people from the campsite and from the surrounding areas
From the campsite you can take enjoy a river trip on a canoe on the lovely, lazy, River Vienne. This is a ‘must do’ activity. There are a succession of little rapids which make the river trip still more enjoyable. You depart from the campsite complete with helmet and life-jacket, and you paddle down the wide river in beautiful scenery to Manot. The trip is around 7 kilometres and takes around two hours. The camp little bus will be there to collect you and your canoe and take you back to the campsite.

Aquitaine & England
The region of Aquitaine passed to France in 1137 when the duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine married Louis VII of France. Their marriage
was annulled in 1152 and eight weeks later Eleanor married Henry, Duke of Normandy, who became King Henry II of England in 1154. Aquitaine and Normandy were under English rule and became the cornerstone of the Angevin Empire. Aquitaine remained English until the end of the Hundred Years’ War in 1453, when it was annexed by France. During the three hundred years the region was ruled by the Kings of England, large quantities of wine produced in southwestern France were being exported to England. In fact, so much wine and other produce were being exported to London and sold that by the start of the Hundred Years' War the profits from Aquitaine was the principal source of the English King's income per annum.
